So glad I’m doing April as a wine month to America and the Nappa Valley.

Over the years I’ve sampled not though of the American produced wines - not published and promoted that much in the UK.

Sadly wine seems dominated by France and Italy - old world is good but Sonia the new world.

Ive spent the last bank holiday weekend immersed in the Barefoot collection and Waw Waw Waw!!! - some amazingly uncomplicated wines here and a mate (JD) has his bottle this weekend - easy to say it was worth the price - and more! Average bottle price is under £8 - for wine and something than can be slurped with zero complication is a fine price.

So this weekend I went a little up the scale and splashed out around £40 on these 2 corkers.

Both fine and complex and then they reveal themselves as amazing taste.

Nothing sinister and everything full and again worth the price.

Wine complexity is the first taste - then it begins to explode as you warm to it’s aroma and flavour.

These 2 were fantastic - the First Press was and will be in the top 10 at the end of this year.

Easily a find and the Vinyard has over 90 years of wine growing - which when you consider the start of the wine growing was in 1850 - they ain’t done bad!

Quick history lesson - China started wine making in 7000BC, Georgia 6000BC and France around 600BC

Nappa Valley - take a bow you guys!

Ill be heading out to the highway (to quote Judas Priest) this coming weekend to look for some some inspirations and new bottles to review!

But First Press and the 2018 cab sav 👌👌👌🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸😋😋😋
